I sail, I’m a sailor, I sailed…

Today was great! We woke up late expecting rain but instead it was a little cloudy with mostly sun. It was a sunder shower. (as Albert says on the radio)We went down to town and rented a small boat with an even smaller engine. Either way we knew it would get us out to the water and the islands. Jon drove for a while. We found a closed camp ground with no one there. We moved on to another island that had a restaurant on it. Lunch was good but the girl informed us it was tricky since they don’t have power on it.
After that I drove for a bit and we realized that our boat was underrated for big waters. Dan was content reading a book lying in the front of the boat while James, Jon, and I were yelling every time it looked that a wave might go over into the boat. We were nervous so we quickly stopped at an island till the waters calmed from the big cruise boats.
It was a nice surprise to find that there was a hidden cove with chairs for us to sit in and enjoy the sun. It was a whole island to ourselves! After a few hours we made our way back to HVAR. We quickly realized AGAIN that our boat was still too small for the big waves (and that the anchor broke off the last time we stopped). We basically were screaming the whole way back thinking that we might go under but we didn’t. We just got really wet from all the big waves splashing us and then we went home and cleaned up.
We are now at a restaurant and we order 3 pizzas’ (Mexican, 4 cheese, & Prosciutto). I am typing on the laptop while we wait. I will post this ASAP. Tonight we might eat ice cream. Yum Yum…

Wow, what a great day you guys had. Sun even. Enjoyed your tales of boating - traversing the Adriatic Sea and keeping the motor running. I feel like we are at the mercy of weather and waves most of the time in our 16 foot sailboat! More enjoyable photos on this edition of the blog. I see Dan reading another map. Mr. Keel the cartographer.
I don't know if everyone has a copy of your itinerary. You are going to Sucaraj and Drvenik and Dubrovnik. Finally to Bari,Italy. That sounds like a lot of traveling for one day. Time to refer to my trusty map to see exactly where these places are. Safe boating, driving, traveling. Looking forward to your next installment.

Wow, sounds like you guys had quite a bit of excitement. Now I'm curious, you mentioned Dan was reading a book while lying down in the boat. Is this while you other three were all screaming for your lives? haha. Nice.
Anyway, sounds like you guys had a nice little memorable adventure. Be safe (we all do want you to come back). And as famous as it might make you guys here in the Stafford area, I think its best if you skip the drowning in the Adriatic sea part.
Alrighty, lookin' forward to your next post. TTYL. =D
Hi Dan etal:
Great job with the Blog & all the pix; appreciate your time spent keeping folks up to date. I'm getting in shape just reading your travels and the food does not sound too onerous...hmmm, not as good as Dan's Hartford Steam I suspect.... Dan, had four days of heavy rain here with 7 inches one day in Waterbury. Hopefully we sucked all the moisture out of the sky where you guys are and you'll only see blue above. Yanks-Red Sox for the next four days. Keep the updates coming.
Thanks, Woody
IT SOUNDS LIKE YOU GUYS HAD FUN FLOATING IN YOUR DINGY.I WANTED TO GIVE YOU TODAYS TEXT. MON JUNE 5," YOU MUST LOVE YOUR FELLOW AS YOURSELF"-LEV 19:18. THE WATCHTOWER COMMENT TALKS ABOUT DISHONEST MERCHANTS TAKING ADVANTAGE OF THE POOR AND HOW THE JUDGES WERE PUT THERE TO HELP THEM BUT WERE BEING BRIBED BY THE MERCHANTS. THE POOR WERE DOUBLY WRONGED. LET US REFLECT.
HOW HAVE YOUR SPIRITUAL ASSIGNMENTS BEEN GOING.ANY LOCAL NEEDS PARTS THAT HAD TO COME UP?
TYPE YOU LATER
All this time I thought the ferry would be dangerous...Who knew you would take on the Adriatic in a small boat? I'm going to further my obsession and think that the waves you encountered were in fact from the ferries...Cool pictures today guys I'm glad you are still having fun and that Dan is catching up on his angry, self obsessed, Russian authors.
Not only is Chris bold, he even types BOLD!
